HEALTH OFFICIALS INVESTIGATE BACTERIAL INFECTION IN MISSOURI

|

Health officials in Greene County have been investigating a bacterial infection that killed one elderly person, to see if it came from a batch of cantaloupes.

The health department is looking into whether this has anything to do with the Rocky Ford cantaloupe recall. At this time, the recall only includes cantaloupes that were shipped from Jensen Farms in Colorado.

Federal reports at this time state that the outbreak has spread to several states, made at least 22 people sick and killed two people. Two elderly people have been hospitalized with the bacteria and one of them has died.
